New Playground

We are thrilled to announce that the new playground is now open!

We are thrilled to announce that the new playground is now open! Our kindergarten through sixth grade students have been enjoying new playground equipment to climb on and soft turf to tumble across.

As an educator, parent, grandparent, missionary, and traveler, I have seen many playgrounds. It is truly a joy to see our children playing and enjoying a well-designed playground.
Why are playgrounds important? The list is endless. I’m sure you would be able to add to my list.

Playgrounds provide opportunities to:
Learn how to play alongside different personalities and view others from a biblical perspective
Build physical strength and develop gross motor skills
Reduce the risk of obesity
Strengthen immune system
Foster better sleep
Increase the ability to pay attention in the classroom
Try new and challenging things
Increase competence in dealing with a wide range of emotions such as fear, patience, competition, frustration, boredom, anger, etc.
Engage in creative and imaginative play
Increase spontaneity and flexibility
Learn self-control
Develop skills in problem-solving, critical thinking, leadership, and collaboration
Practice and cultivate social skills with coaching from parents and supervising adults

With children spending an estimated 8-10 hours per day on media, including phones, computers, and televisions, we want to be intentional to provide them with off-screen time and free play time outside. Join us in thanking God for this new playground!

There will be a ribbon cutting ceremony to celebrate our new playground on Friday, October 11 at 8:15 a.m.  WIth the entire student body in attendance as well as our board members, the Marysville Mayor, and the Chief of Police, we will spend a few moments recognizing this great gift provided by God through many donations and laborers.
