Investing In Christian Education

Helping students to have a firm footing when facing life’s challenges and glorify God.

With the entrance of the New Year, resolutions are on the forefront of many minds. Our kindergarten students wrote some exciting ambitions for 2018, such as building better snowmen with Play-Doh! Several of the youngsters had goals that reflected a more spiritual focus. One wanted to learn how to read so she could read the Bible! Another child wanted to learn more about God.

Goals such as these confirm the importance of families choosing to invest in a Christian education in which looking at life through the lens of God’s Word is paramount. With Grace Academy’s curriculum being Bible-based, class time spent in the Word and emphasizing scripture memorization, as well as weekly chapels worshiping the Lord, our school offers a framework in which faith and Godly character develop.

Teachers have a front row seat to witness the wonder God performs in such an environment. This month our class was sadly touched by cancer, as one of our classmate’s father passed. With genuine love, the students opened their arms and hearts to help this young lad deal with the loss of his dad. Colossians 3:12 states, “Therefore, as God’s chosen people, holy and dearly loved, clothe yourself with compassion, kindness, humility, gentleness and patience.”

Reading their kind responses in a book we had compiled for this grieving son I was struck by the faith of these five-year-olds. “Your daddy is in heaven,” one wrote, reflecting a wise eternal perspective. “He feels no pain” another one comforted with biblical truth. “We can’t wait to hug you when you come back to school” echoed another, voicing sentiments of healing friendship.

If we can come alongside families to develop this type of Christ-like attitude and behavior we accomplish our most important job. Although we value high test scores and college preparedness, above all we prioritize living a Godly life that pleases our Creator. Our staff aims to impact students by moving them toward knowledge and wisdom, educating from a biblical worldview for this life; evangelizing and equipping for eternal life. Our school mission matters! If we can establish a solid foundation formed on God’s Word, our students will have a firm footing when facing life’s challenges and glorify God.
