Welcome back to school!
Whether you are brand new to our school or returning, it is our pleasure to have you at Grace Academy. I am excited for each and every student who will be taught and ministered to by our amazing Grace Academy staff and faculty. We are praying for our student's spiritual and academic growth as they attend classes and chapels, and participate in a myriad of activities throughout their school day.
We also are grateful to God for sending us skilled new teachers. We have added Michelle Kozial as a math teacher in secondary. Garry Schultz will teach technology for 5th through 9th grade and Mrs. Christison will be teaching a variety of secondary classes. We have increased our elementary by adding a third kindergarten class with Savannah Pratt teaching and a second 5th-grade class with MaKayla Koster teaching. Elementary will also be adding an elementary enrichment class in STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering, and Math) taught by Mrs. Huckaby. The class will be for K-2 during the first semester and 3-6 during the second semester.
We have had a busy summer with facility improvements. We have remodeled one of the elementary classrooms with new paint, carpet, cubbies, and cabinets to make room for a second 5th-grade classroom. In Building E, the Activity Center, we are completing a full classroom in the upper northeast corner. This will give us a beautiful new space for increased flexibility in scheduling. There have been a plethora of cleaning, landscaping, and painting projects going on in addition to the gym floor being sanded and refinished. You might be wondering about our playground project. This was delayed due to supply chain issues but we are on track to get that started at the beginning of next summer.
While we are thankful for all of the amazing facility improvements, we understand that these are buildings provided by God for us to use to educate and impact students. The real work of the school is in the hearts and minds of our students. We appreciate your prayers as we continue to fulfill our mission in the coming year.
