His divine power has granted to us all things that pertain to life and godliness, through the knowledge of him who called us to his own glory and excellence. - 2 Peter 1:3
When parents first come on campus to meet with Mrs. Austin or me, we emphasize that we are a Christian school and what that means. There is a lot that goes into a Christian school, but the reality is that we would just be another religious school without the sufficiency of Jesus Christ, the one true God and creator of the universe. The world is in trouble; we hear it in the news, we see it all around us. The world looks for answers and solutions, but they look to themselves and their own devices, which is just not going to work. As a Christian school, we teach Jesus Christ. We seek to immerse our school in His truth, for He is the only salvation. He did not come to save a particular nation or even this planet; he came to save sinners, the lost. If you seek hope, peace, and salvation, these can only be found in a relationship with Jesus Christ. He came “...to seek and save the lost.” (Luke 19:10). The Bible tells us that “all have sinned and fall short of the glory of God.” (Romans 3:23). That means every one of us is dead in sin and in need of saving. For this, again, only Jesus Christ is sufficient. Sufficient means “enough,” and enough means that we want for nothing.
I could go on and on. So, how does one get this sufficiency, this abundance, this enough? First, acknowledge that you are a sinner in need of being saved from your sins and an eternity separated from God. Second, you must believe in the name of Jesus Christ. One needs to believe that Jesus is God and came to this earth in human form, was crucified, took on our sins, and then conquered death. He is sitting at the right hand of God. It is not enough to believe; you must then give your life over to Him completely. The world says that Christianity is bondage, but the Word of God teaches that a relationship with Him is freedom from the bondage of sin and death, and there is no greater liberty.
Please accept this sufficiency today.
