Senior Year at Grace Academy

From time to time, we will have students leave us in high school as they search for the all-American high school experience.

I don’t know about you, but I bet many of you, like myself, endured the all-American high school experience and would never want our children exposed to what we were. It was not that great nearly forty years ago when I graduated, and it certainly could not have improved since then.

It's come to our attention that we haven't been showcasing the unique aspects of the Grace Academy Senior Year. Allow me to shed some light on this distinct experience.

Every Autumn, I have the privilege of meeting with the senior parents. Together, we craft a plan to bless the seniors throughout the year. This plan, a collaboration between the school and parents, is unique to each year's senior class. Here's a glimpse of what we've done in the past.
  • Treats are brought to class for the birthdays in that month. Summer birthdays are also blessed either collectively or on their half-birthdays
  • Monthly senior surprises are planned and executed by the parents. Some examples are:
  • Corn maze and pumpkin patch
  • Silvertips, Mariners, etc.
  • Bowling
  • Axe throwing
  • Food truck for a school-day lunch
  • and the list goes on.
  • We take the students out in October for a fun day of taking senior pictures.
  • In November/December, the school takes the class to Seattle to attend “A Christmas Carol” at the ACT Theater.
  • Senior Chapel
  • Senior Tea
  • An exceptional graduation ceremony
  • After graduation, Grad Night events
  • and much more
Ultimately, our goal is to make the senior year at Grace Academy extraordinary and memorable. It stands apart from other schools as we seek to bless each class out of the good things that God has given us. It is a time longed for by underclassmen and fondly remembered in the years to come.
